Berlin Fashion Week: Dorothee Schumacher

"Head, heart and dress. When they work together, a woman shines from within.“ Dorothee Schumacher is firmly convinced that the true strength of women lies in their femininity. This has been the message from her very first collection that was presented in 1989.  DOROTHEE SCHUMACHER evolved to become a ready-to-wear label with an international presence over the past two decades.  Her ability to sense the demands of women is her recipe for success." source designers, MBFashionweek

The standout piece for me is a beautifully romantic russet brown silk dress, with a calf-grazing asymmetrical hemline, paired with a bodice reminiscent of saucy medieval tavern wenches. Absolutely gorgeous. A  fresh color for Spring and Summer. The structured classic beige shirt  has a military attitude, paired beautifully with a heavy cotton skirt using alternate layers of heavy cotton with cucoloris lace, softening the look for something decidedly office ready yet playful. The other standout pieces continue with the soft attitude on medieval times on the bodice and hemlines skimming the knees for a lovely modern statement. The styling and hair for Schumacher's collection underlined the mix of eras. Soft, feminine, practical.
