Thomas Hardy goes Indian: Freida Pinto

Freida Pinto in West Hollywood
Freida Pinto, of "Slumdog Millionaire" fame (showing in Prospect Park, Brooklyn btw on July 19th as part of the summertime outdoor movie thing) and Woody Allen's "You will Meet a tall dark Stranger" is in West Hollywood for her latest movie "Trishna", an Indian take on Thomas Hardy's "Tess of the D'Urbervilles". The book is incredibly dull and the movie with Natasia Kinski was incredibly dull.

We are counting on Indian panache to liven things up. Judging by the trailer, we think "Trishna" with the disgustingly gorgeous Ms. Pinto might just do the trick. (Riz Ahmed as the rich guy who whisks poor girl away to a life of luxury with pitfalls isn't bad looking either.)

The shift dress is cute and the shoes don't really match but preferable to the peplum dresses she was wearing in Cannes. We'd have gone with yellow or orange strappy sandals. Even pink would have worked.  Nevertheless, we adore her.
