Summer dresses in the city: Diane, Alexa, Hilary

The simplest style for the summer is a dress: it's like a ticket to an amusement park which allows you to go on all the rides, eat anything you want and stay as long as you want. In other words, slip on a cool sun dress on in the morning; go anywhere (cafe, lunch, walk in the park, movies, work, evening drinks) and stay cool and look chic.

Diane Kruger in Paris wearing I have no idea but it's cute. The strappy sandals are nice but we'd go with a color for the bag (maybe blue?). It'd make the outfit look so much more pleasant to gaze upon. And hot summers in the city need us to wear refreshing colors for some respite from the heat.

Alexa Chung in Orla Kiely. Okay, this dress may not take you to a fancy nightclub (who needs them anyway) but it will take you all the way from work to the English Gardens in Munich or the Heuriger in Vienna (sitting in the shade underneath huge old trees drinking beer or a Kracherl*).  Definitely.

Since you are only wearing three things (the dress, shoes, a bag) you have to get it right: Alexa's dress is very understated. The sandals paired with the clutch make the whole look pretty cute.  She totally gets it right.

Hilary Rhoda's dress is somewhat more proper, so they'll let you in at the Cafe de Paris in Monaco. We like (not love) the dress, dislike the wedge sandals: too much of the same color. Plus we think these wedges are too casual for the dress. Ballerinas or a black platform sandal would have upgraded the whole look. That's why we're here lovelies.

*Kracherl is a fizzy drink made of all natural ingredients and available in any city or village in Austria.
The English Gardens is a place you must go if you visit Munich is the summer months.
