New York Fashion Week: Peter Som

Peter Som Fall Winter 2012
"effortless elegance and refined sexiness" is how American designer Peter Som describes his style. For the most part, I'd agree. His fall winter collection 2012 shown two days ago at Milk Studios during New York Fashion Week mirrors the philosophy, signaling Som's ability to step beyond the shadow of Calvin Klein (Calvin Klein is to American Fashion what YSL was to French fashion. Not in design, obviously, but in stature and omnipresence). Like Cushnie et Ochs, Som has benefitted from the Michelle Obama effect. Sprinkle in some celebrities like Scarlett Johansson and Claire Danes and helming an established brand like Bill Blass, success and sales should be easier than for many of the other young designers out there. We shall keep an eye on Peter Som.

I love the coat, not sure about sandals in winter though.

very cute wearable versatile dress, nice length

love the ivory and persian lamb fur.
not sure about the belted thing:
bathrobe alert albeit an pricey one
