different: Steve Jobs 1955 - 2011

"Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Keep going. You've got to find what you love. That is as true for work as it is for your lovers. Do what you believe is great work. The only way to do great work is to love what you do. Keep searching. As with any great relationship, it just gets better and better.

Remembering that I'll be dead soon is the most important tool I've ever encountered. It helped me make the big choices in life because almost everything - all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure - these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important.

For the past 30 years, I've looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself, "would I want to do what I am about to do today? Whenever the answer has been 'no' for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something.

Remembering you are going to die is the best way to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart. Stay hungry, stay foolish."

He has made our lives pretty different and quite wonderful.
